| Dear Vintage Yarn Knitters:
There is no doubt that winter has arrived! The cold and snowy weather is perfect for cozying up by our fireplace while enjoying a hot cup of tea or coffee and knitting to your heart’s content. It’s the perfect arena for learning the latest and greatest happenings at Vintage Yarns…...and do we have an exciting project to share with you!
How many times have you seen a project and wanted to take the class, only to feel that it was beyond your abilities? Well, not anymore! With the opening of Vintage Yarn University (VYU), that need never happen again! VYU will teach you knitting techniques that will expand your abilities as a knitter. The cost is free and the skills are invaluable. These classes work right along with our class schedule so that you learn the skills that will enable you to tackle any project…and the classes are listed right here in the schedule. To celebrate the completion of these classes, a fashion show and luncheon will be held at Bedford Hills Country Club in March where graduates will receive a diploma! Please watch your email for further details. (If you do not receive our e-newsletter, please stop in at the shop and fill out the white card with your email address - any staff person can assist you. This white card is mandatory for the mailing service.)
As a Rowan Yarn Stockist… we will continue our offer with Rowan Magazine at 30% off the retail price when you participate in these classes at Vintage Yarns.
I would like to thank each of you for making Lily Chin’s visit to our shop a success. The support of the Holey Toledo Knitting Guild was invaluable. Lily is undoubtedly one of the best teachers that I have had the opportunity to learn from …she is wonderful and a delightful ball of energy!
As a result of Lily’s visit, Candy will be teaching the beaded sweater from the Lily Chin book, which many of you have already purchased and saw at her trunk show. We are very excited about this class offering.
We have two more designers scheduled for Vintage Yarns. The first designer is Gail Crosman Moore. Gail is an exceptional beader who teaches felting and needle techniques. She is very creative and you are sure to enjoy her classes…we have pictures of her work for you to preview at the shop. You may also preview her designs on the Internet at www.gailcrosmanmoore.com
The second designer is Judy Pascale. Judy is returning to teach her beautiful beaded capelet/poncho with a gorgeous Iris design (some of you may have seen her working on it last time), and her famous beaded belt/scarf. Judy is an excellent teacher; she is very gifted and anyone who has taken her classes before can attest to her unique teaching style. The knowledge that she possesses is bound to improve your knitting skills. Please look up her designs at www.judypascale.com
Also, we are very excited that Jan Poll has agreed to teach the pattern she mastered, the Diagonal Cardigan. This stunning cardigan is knit in one piece, fits well and has no sewing required! Don’t miss out on learning from the pro – Jan is the former owner of Village Stitchery and founder of “The Holey Toledo Knitting Guild”.
Knitting Retreat – our first knitting retreat was a wonderful success, so much so that we are having a Spring Retreat … watch the e-newsletters for details.
Sincerely,
Shirleen, Alice, Angie, Candy, Cyndi, Emmajean, Ginger, Paula, Peg, Rose and Tracey |
