Beginning Knitting
– (Cyndi) Have you always wanted to learn how to knit but never picked up a knitting needle? Then this is the class for you! In it you will learn how to cast on, knit, purl, bind off, and make your very first felted purse. Class size is limited, so sign up for a session soon.

Supplies: 2 skeins worsted weight non-washable wool, size 10½ or 11 straight needles (9”), pattern will be supplied in class.

Traditional Socks by Jane
– (Cyndi) Knitting socks on 4 needles is FUN, and a lot easier than it looks. This traditional way of knitting socks can be accomplished by any knitter who is ready for a new and fun challenge. Once you wear hand-knitted socks, you’ll never go back to the store-bought variety! Cyndi will be teaching Jane’s sock pattern in memory of her late mother who was a published Master Knitter.

Supplies: 4 size 2 DPNs, 400 yards sock or fingering-weight yarn. Jane’s sock pattern will be supplied in class.

Double Knitting
– (Cyndi) Have you ever wanted to try double-knitting? Learn with this fast and easy double-knitting project by making a pair of reversible slippers. The slippers are knitted in two different colors of yarn, are fun to knit, and are even more fun to wear! This class is great for helping you challenge your beginning knitting skills, and for the knitter who wants to go beyond the scarf or hat.

Supplies: 2 skeins worsted weight yarn in contrasting or complimentary colors, size 6 straight needles. Pattern will be supplied in class.

Exploring Crochet

Galway Jacket
– (Nina) This Plymouth pattern was so popular the first time around, we decided to offer it again! The dolman-sleeved jacket is done completely in garter stitch (all knit – no purl)! However, creative souls may want to throw in a little moss/seed stitch or change the length. The pattern is quick and oh-so-easy.

Supplies: Worsted weight yarn (e.g. Berroco Comfort, Encore Colorspun) in variegated or solid colors, size 8 – 24” circular needles, pattern.

Claudie Cardie
– (Nina) Another great Black Purl design. Can be made with long, ¾ length, or short sleeves. Works well in lightweight wools for winter and spring, as well as in cottons for summer. A beautiful, repeating lace design (very simple) graces the side fronts. The cardie can be made with no closures, tied closure, or button closure.

Supplies: DK weight yarn (e.g. Royal Llama Silk, Royal Llama Linen, Berroco Ultra Aplaca), sizes 5 & 6 straights, pattern.

– (Nina) This fabulous vest pattern from Mountain Colors has been displayed in the shop trunk show. It’s a quick and easy knit that looks especially gorgeous in the Mountain Colors Wool Crepe. There is a tiny bit of short-row shaping at the V-neck – an excellent project on which to learn short-rowing!

Supplies: Mountain Colors Wool Crepe (or similar weight yarn, such as Cherry Tree Hill Sock Yarn or Koigu Sock Yarn), size 9 – 24” circular needles, pattern.

Free-Form Purse
– (Mary Pat) Free yourself from patterns, counting, and rows. Learn to express you knitting and crochet skills by creating a one-of-a-kind, artistic and beautiful handbag. Sweater of the Month Classes
– Mary Pat has designed a Sweater of the Month class to help our knitters knit sweaters that they can finish in one month. Her classes are fun and easy, and are designed to increase your knitting skills and confidence levels. You’re sure to enjoy her classes, and you’ll be able to wear your creations in one month! Mary Pat is always available for extra help on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. This sweater class/club is an exceptional value. You’ll receive a diploma and party at the end of each month when your sweater is completed. Following are descriptions of January’s and February’s projects.

 

     

Mohair Linen Sweater  


Mohair and Linen Sweater by Mary Pat
– Learn to knit a simple yet elegant sweater in seed stitch, stockinette, and ladder stitch. This sweater has simple shaping and is suitable for all body shapes. This is Mary Pat’s custom sweater that will add versatility to any wardrobe.
